BREAKING NEWS: OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN HAS PASSED AT AGE 73
Actress, Olivia Newton-John has passed away suddenly today at the age of 73. The actress was just weeks shy of reaching her 74th birthday which would have been September 26th.
Ms. Newton-John was a British-Australian singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and activist. She accomplished much during her lifetime and was even a huge activist for animal rights issues.
She once shared in an interview with BeChewy her passion for animals began when she was young. “My mother said I was always bringing home strays. Stray dogs, stray cats, and I remember as a little girl, seeing a guy being abusive to a horse with a cart, and I went up and grabbed the reins and yelled at him… I must have been under 10. So, yeah… I always adored them.”
Among singing and recording albums, Olivia Newton-John was most known for her acting roles. Her most famous role being Sandy Olsson visiting America from Australia with her parents and moving after summer vacation in the famous musical film ‘Grease’. John Travolta is mourning the loss of his co-star and friend and wrote, “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better.”
The actress and singer had been battling breast cancer for several years. During this time the Oliva Newton-John Cancer Research Institute was founded out of her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The institute was meant to part of a bigger fight not just for herself but to help as many other people as possible.
Although she has lost her battle with breast cancer, Olivia Newton-John’s legacy lives on.
