Don’t Fight the Gas Prices, Just Go Electric
In this ever-changing economy, gas prices are finally beginning to decrease slowly but surely. Some of the conspiracy theorists will say the horrendous gas price increase over the summer was to begin forcing people to get electric cars and get rid of gas cars altogether.
Just like the shift from Blockbuster to Netflix, pagers to cell phones, the world is ready to move from gas cars to electric cars.
Jason Low at Principal Analyst at Canalys says, “Over 3.2 million EVs were sold in Mainland China in 2021 – half of all electric cars sold worldwide, and 2 million more than were sold in the country in 2020. Many new models are launching every month in each important market segment, from tiny, inexpensive city cars to mainstream and premium sedans and SUVs. 15% of new cars sold in 2021 in Mainland China were EVs – more than double the percentage in 2020, and there is still a huge opportunity for future growth in 2022 and beyond.”
Since 2021 a new report shows that national gasoline usage has been cut 54% by electric vehicles in the United States as stated by Wired.
Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods says every new passenger car sold in the world will be electric by 2040.
Because electric vehicles are more efficient in converting energy to power cars and trucks, electricity across the board is cleaner and cheaper as a fuel for vehicles, even when that electricity comes from the dirtiest grid.
While you may spend more money to purchase an electric car, you will save time & money by no longer getting gas, and make the environment a little happier.
Eco-Friendly and Health-Friendly
Emissions from vehicles are bad for both our planet and our health. Air pollutants from gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles cause asthma, bronchitis, cancer, and premature death.
The long-term health impacts of localized air pollution last a lifetime, with the effects borne out in asthma attacks, lung damage, and heart conditions.
