Euphoria’s Colman Domingo Takes Home an Emmy

HBO Max’s hit television show Euphoria’s guest star Colman Domingo took home the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series as. Domingo admires his role as Ali, the Narcotics Anonymous sponsor to Zendaya’s Rue, on the Sam Levinson-created series.

“I love what Ali represents in the world,” Domingo said of his character following Sunday’s ceremony (via Deadline). “To see such a positive representation of an African American man who is complex, who has his own struggles, but he’s very human. He’s very much an ordinary guy trying to do some extraordinary things just by being kind and being generous and gentle, and having a wry sense of humor.”

On Instagram he gave many thanks to the cast and crew, while also adding inspiration for aspiring actors. “For every one who loves me. For every working actor who may not get his shine, just keep showing up and doing the work. Your shine is coming.”

Euphoria was renewed back in February for a third season. Last week news broke that one star Barbie Ferreira will not be returning to the show. However, things look up as Domingo gave insight on a recent conversation with Director Sam Levinson and says, “It’s an organism, and he wants it to keep shifting it in many ways, and I think he’s going to take some really big swings, actually, with Season 3.”
