L.A. fashion designer Angel Brinks has built a big name for herself
Los Angeles, L.A. designer, Angel Brinks was a performing arts student of Armenian descent but was more interested in the costumes. Growing up a bit less fortunate and having to wear hand me downs ignited something in Angel. Performing in show costumes made her feel good and also inspired her to design things that sparkled and shined. Her brand became greater than just a fashion design store as she works with everybody; not just celebrities.
Angel began experimenting with her grandma’s sewing machine at home and attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing to sharpen her skill. Angel Brinks Fashion was launched in 2010 and within the first-year, celebrities were reaching out to purchase her pieces. Some made comments about the look and cost of her designs, but she kept going nevertheless. Angel currently has a store in Las Vegas and an online boutique. She wants to be featured in big box stores such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, but she still has a lot to do and wakes up daily to attack her plan. Coming from standing in line at U.S.P.S to ship her own packages, to creating and flourishing with her own team, Angel now knows the ins and outs of design and is often “the last man standing.”
Angel Brinks Fashion prides itself on being available to customers via FaceTime to assist them with measuring, patterns sizes, and material choices, which illustrates the authenticity that lies within her expertise. Angel and her team assists throughout the entire fitting process and provides quality one-on-one customer service with every order. She has designed for, Saweetie, Mel B., Heidi Klum, Beyoncé, Cardi B, Megan the Stallion, Black Chyna, Lil Kim, City Girls, Missy Elliott, and Xscape, who reached out to her to design costumes for their return to the stage after 19 years. These are hard working women that Angel admires, and some are moms as well.
Angel has been making strides in a major way as fashion isn’t her only avenue. She recently released her first fragrance, Heaven Scent, which is almost sold out on her website and now is working on her second scent. She also just finished shooting the latest season of Basketball Wives to be aired soon on VH1. Angel Brinks Fashion will be featuring about 30 to 35 pieces in New York Fashion Week, February 2023, showcasing 30 models, including the gorgeous Winnie Harlow.
