Meet Fashion Designer and Business Owner Zohaib Shah
Owner of the DaRucci celebrity coat brand since 2015, Zohaib Shah, is currently located in Manhattan, N.Y. In the 6th grade, he moved to the U.S. from Pakistan not knowing any English, drifted off into a bit of trouble, but quickly found his way onto a more positive path, attended college to study Accounting, but he still wanted more. His father, who passed away in 2020, was a huge inspiration to him and always told him to push hard to carry out his dreams.
Zohaib first utilized manufacturers in Pakistan but desired a more improved quality. He started making jackets, furs, and sheepskin shearlings which were very high-end. After some time, he started wholesaling in the tri-state area. His very first showroom was a 350-square-foot room with a distinct wall. Zohaib wanted every hip-hop artist that he styled to sign that wall. Within six months, the wall was signed by French Montana, Styles P., and Joseph Sikora, who played Tommy on Power.
DaRucci is now available in a storefront in Manhattan S.O.H.O. and particular clients get pieces brought to them where they are able to view, try on, and purchase. He has had the pleasure of styling rapper 50 Cent, who he idolized growing up. Even though he didn’t understand all of the lyrics to his songs, his music truly moved Zohaib. When Power was at its peak in 2017, Omari Hardwick hosted a DaRucci Fashion Show giving the coat brand much notoriety. Zohaib has gone on to dress Dave East, Christian Combs, Fabolous, Jada Kiss, and boxers Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather.

The DaRucci coat brand is undeniably unique and has a lot of volume. Upcoming happenings that supporters can look forward to including:
DaRucci Fashion Show will be in February 2023, when its Spring Collection will be launched. This line will feature genuine leather hoodies, sweatsuits, shorts, shirts, pants, and tank tops. This brand is always looking forward to collaborations with more prominent artists. A valuable piece that DaRucci and rapper, the late D.M.X. collaborated on before his untimely passing, will be showcased; a one-of-a-kind V bomber jacket with a personalized logo on the back. DaRucci is also revamping rap artist Camron’s entire look to take him back to how his original style was in the 90s. There’s much more to come with DaRucci in the New Year, so be on the lookout.
