Selena Gomez Taking Social Media Break Following Kylie Jenner Eyebrow Drama

Following the frenzy of buzz and headlines that erupted due to her comments on TikTok about alleged drama with Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez decided to depart the platform. As Cosmopolitan reported, Gomez went live on TikTok to explain her decision to her fans before disabling her account.
The uproar all started when Gomez posted a video about how she had over-laminated her eyebrows. A few hours later, Jenner posted a FaceTime screenshot of herself and Bieber that highlighted their eyebrows, followed by a selfie with the text, “this was an accident????” over her own eyebrows.
In an interview with Vanity Fair this month, Gomez commented on her limited use of social media, with TikTok being the only platform she had on her phone. “The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile,” she stated. “There are wonderful things about social media—connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories. But usually that’s filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do I send to my assistant who posts them. As far as comments, my team will put together a few things that are encouraging.”
This also follows recent talk about her weight gain. She also addressed this in a video and let fans know it’s due to medications.
Gomez hopped on TikTok Live Thursday to address the rumor of a feud with Jenner — she made it clear to her fans that she was in good spirits, even noting, “I’m too old for this,” as she vowed to take a break from social media.
Her move away from the platform was notable considering that, only a day before, she had overtaken Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram.
